- Aphrodite is a 2025 MacBook Air with M4 chip. This is the fourth
Mac in our household, and was purchased to be my youngest son's computer.
What's most notable about this is that it replaces Venus, my 2013 MacBook Pro,
acquired in 2015, which was my first Mac and has been in continuous service
for over 10 years. Venus started as a computer for me and my wife, then
after I got Aurora in 2020, Venus shifted to being a computer for my
oldest son, then after getting Calpyso in 2022, Venus became a
computer for youngest son. Venus has held up remarkably well over the years
and gets the credit for convincing me of the reliability and longevity of
Macs. There was no particular problem with Venus even now, but she
no longer receives macOS updates and in general it felt like time
to finally retire her.
